Description
Department of Human Settlements appointed a consulting team to provide professional consultancy services in connection with the Contract No. 458C/2010’11 Professional Services (Phases 1, 2 & 3: Planning, Design & Implementation: 2000 Housing Units: Kanonkop (Atlantis) Housing
Phase 1 – 455 units
Archescape Architects shall fulfil the role of Architect on the project in accordance with the scope of work set out below.
The Architect shall be required to:
1. Design various housing typologies that are responsive to a range of beneficiary space and afford ability requirements in accordance with the NHBRC and National Housing Department’s minimum housing standards.
2. Prepare designs that will favour sustainable development principals in accordance with the City of Cape Town’s Green Building Guidelines.
3. Obtain approval of the abovementioned designs by the Bid Specification Committee and the City’s Building Development Department.
4. On approval of the Architectural detail design drawings, two sets of paper prints must be submitted to the Client for signature. One set will be kept by the Employer and the other returned to the Architect Urban Designer. All other prints issued henceforth shall carry the words “Initial version signed on (date)” at the signature location in the title block.
5. Provide the Client with the required number of (hard) copies of plans for tender purposes.
6. Submit the plans to the Local Authority for approval.
